
This course provides an overview of fundamental biological and physiological principles related to human health and homeostasis, with a focus on the impact of lifestyle factors on physical and mental wellbeing. Students explore how the body’s major systems function and interact to maintain health and respond to lifestyle influences. Through laboratory activities and student projects, the course connects biological knowledge with everyday lifestyle choices, helping students make informed decisions to promote health and prevent disease.

This course focuses on the development of essential skills for effective scientific communication in written, oral, and visual forms. Students learn how to collect, organize, and critically evaluate scientific literature as a foundation for writing research papers, thesis chapters, and project reports. The course emphasizes conventions of academic and scientific publishing, principles of scientific style, clarity, and coherence, as well as the ethical responsibilities of authors.
Through practical exercises, students are trained in preparing and delivering scientific presentations and posters, using appropriate citation and reference management tools, and adapting communication strategies to different audiences. The course also introduces the peer-review process and critical evaluation of scientific manuscripts, while fostering transferable communication skills applicable to interdisciplinary research environments.
