
This course aims to introduce students to the fundamental principles of computer programming and computational thinking in the context of STEM education. It enables students to understand how algorithms, data structures, and computer code can be used to model and solve scientific and engineering problems. The course places emphasis on the development of logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, as well as on creating simple programs using a modern programming language, Python, relevant to real-world STEM applications. Through lectures and laboratory exercises, students gain basic knowledge of programming concepts, data manipulation, and code organization, and explore practical examples from mathematics, physics, chemistry, and environmental sciences.
